Awarded Hanimaadhoo International Airport, Maldives

IDA wins the Hanimaadhoo International Airport competition.

An airport terminal that sits on water, along the fringe between land and sea, fully exploits the natural beauty of Maldives, and making this Floating International Terminal the only one of its kind in the world.

Tourism is the Maldives' largest industry and provides 28% GDP. Our design of the new Hanimaadhoo Airport utilizes natural resources for the economy and buildability in a challenging environment. Our integral environmental strategies will bring to the airport a unique status for the economic development of the Maldives.

IDA is currently working out details with the Maldives government, and as soon as it finalizes, the design work will begin. An estimated completion date will be by the end of 2012.
