Winston has been practising for more than 30 years, with broad experience built over 2 decades of working with Sir Norman Foster and Partners on projects in UK, Hong Kong and China. His major completed work includes the Stansted Airport Terminal (with 28 international awards for excellence), and the Hong Kong International Airport Passenger Terminal Building (HKIA Silver Medal, voted the Best Airport in the World for six consecutive years since 2000).

In 1999 Winston established Integrated Design Associates Ltd. (IDA). Projects completed include the Hong Kong Housing Authority Exhibition Centre (received 3 international and HK design awards and citations), alteration works for the HK Airport, and the new Jinan International Airport Terminal in China. Current projects include the first environmentally sustainable commercial development, the Parkview Green Project in Beijing, a new Head Office with R&D facilities for Nortel Networks in Beijing, a new primary and secondary school for ESF in Discovery Bay, a new "Green" office development as well as a luxury residential development in HK, and the new International Airport at Hyderabad in India. Major competitions include the New Terminal 3 for the Beijing Capital International Airport (one of two finalists), the Dalian International Airport Terminal and a landmark commercial development in Taichung, Taiwan (both projects are winner of international competitions).

His key specialty is in the design and planning of institutional buildings, airport terminal and other transport buildings, projects with unique user requirements, functionally and technically challenging buildings, and "Green" buildings.
